These mochi are made from a blend of glutinous rice and glutinous barley of the 'Kirarimochi' variety. This variety is prized in Japan for its exceptional taste and its ability not to brown during cooking. Considered a "superfood" due to its high fiber content, surpassing that of brown rice and other types of barley, it gives mochi a more pronounced texture and taste. They can be enjoyed in a variety of ways: in soup, as a dessert, in fondue or grilled.

I love them in a sweet version. They're quick to prepare (less than 1min in water in the microwave), and I roll them in a little potato starch like a daifuku mochi. The barley seeds really add to the texture.

The texture of the mugi-mochi is excellent.

Small, easy-to-eat mochi. They can be added to miso soup or eaten directly with soy sauce. Their texture is original and delicious.
