This thick, sweet Japanese sauce is often used to accompany okonomiyaki, the thick Japanese cabbage pancakes. Well-known in Japan, it's made by blending some twenty different spices with lots of fruit and vegetables. It is characterized by a deep sweetness and the rich flavor of carefully selected dates. It can also be used as a sauce for French fries, grilled vegetables and meats.

Our tips

Make an omelette with 200g of cabbage and 3 eggs, then cover with okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise.
Goes equally well with rice and fried eggs.

Very good Okonomiyaki sauce, to go with kewpie mayo.

It goes well with okonomiyaki, but personally I use it on anything fried.
