Nestled in the heart of the Kumamoto mountains, Ooishi Shuzo has been perpetuating the art of shochu since 1872. Bathed by the crystal-clear waters of the Kuma River and surrounded by nature's bounty, this family-run distillery combines its ancestral know-how with modern techniques to offer exceptional shochu.

Every drop of their production is a tribute to their terroir: carefully selected rice grains, sometimes from their own crops, and fermentation mastered to reveal all the aromatic richness. Always in search of innovation, the brewery has pioneered the maturing of shochu in sherry and cognac casks, bringing unprecedented depth and roundness to their cuvées.
