At BIWAN, you can sit at the counter facing the kitchen or at more traditional tables and enjoy a five-course dinner menu in the heart of the koshitsu, the small traditional Japanese private rooms, for a gentle experience in an intimate setting.
But why BIWAN? While waiting to find a permanent name, our teams had given the establishment the code name "B1" (pronounced in English), referring to the basement (Basement 1) where it is located within iRASSHAi.
A few wordplays and a strong attachment to this code name later, "BIWAN" was born!

On the agenda for the BIWAN Culture Club
This summer, the bistronomic restaurant of the Japanese concept store iRASSHAi switches to Japanese culture mode and launches its first BIWAN Culture Club. Between two services, the venue transforms into an exploration space: workshops, classes, talks, and meetings follow one another to discover Japan differently, always with a gourmet perspective.
