Kissaba · Café-bar

In Japan, a kissaten etymologically designates a tea room, but coffee occupies a special place. They developed in opposition to the cafes, which, as their name does not indicate, had become over time noisy and festive places where consuming alcohol. Conversely, a Kissaten was a calm and soothing place where writers and intellectuals met. Their image has become obsolete over time, but today we are witnessing a revival and this ancient tradition is brought up to date. At Irasshai, we took the best of its two places to create the Kissaba · Café-Bar.

The Kissaba is without reservation (except group of more than 10 people).

In the morning, we taste emblematic pastries in Japan as well as a salted offer with donburi in a friendly atmosphere. To accompany them, hot and cold drinks have been carefully selected: cereal infusions, exceptional teas such as matcha and gyokuro from Ippodo house, cold infused iced teas such as sencha and green tea at Yuzu. Among the Latti, we savor the Matcha Latte, Hojicha Latte, and the Kinako latte with a gourmet and deep roasted soy powder. We also make surprising and delicious discoveries, such as this Matchaffogato, an affogato revisited with a shot of Matcha and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

From 6 p.m., the Café-Bar card is growing. This is where we start the evening or end it in style, to discover Japanese sakes or liqueurs. In Kissaba, we make you discover the iconic alcohols of the country of the rising sun: sake, whiskey, shochu, umeshu, yuzushu ... From the best known to the most surprising, the sakes are offered in classic format or tasting in order to taste several specialties. Kissaba is a living place to drink and see, day and night!

All the alcohols offered at the bar are available for sale and classified so that everyone finds their happiness. Thus, the "discovery" sakes are aimed at those who venture for the first time in the world of sake, with conventional references. As for "tasting" sakes, they will seduce amateurs looking for new products. Finally, "curiosity" sakes will attract connoisseurs who wish to be surprised.
