Matcha for cooking and baking - 100g

1001433

A matcha tea harvested using traditional methods in Uji, near Kyoto, a place renowned for the quality of its matcha. The first traces of matcha in Japan date back to the 13th century, to the Kamakura era, when a Buddhist monk brought back from China the seeds of a new kind of tea: not brewed, but ground to a powder and then added to water, which the Japanese called matcha in reference to the manufacturing process. Characterized by a vegetable taste rich in umami and a strong bitterness, matcha is ideal for cooking, replacing coffee and cocoa. It will enable you to revisit the greatest pastry classics: tiramisu, cookies, éclair, mousse or panna cotta. Rich in theine, it helps digestion, boosts the immune system and promotes relaxation. It's also a healthy, natural colorant, ideal for adding color to your preparations. Yamamasa Koyamaen began growing tea in the 17th century, during the Edo period. Traditional techniques were passed down from generation to generation until, in 1861, the company began wholesaling. The company continues to produce high-quality teas, managing every stage from cultivation to sale.
