Alongside recipes for broths, noodles, fillings and side dishes, you'll find preparation tips from top chefs, as well as the personal and cultural anecdotes that make this popular dish a staple of Japanese gastronomy. In this book: - 40 ultra-easy recipes ; - an original comic-book format that makes step-by-step instructions and anecdotes easy to understand; - tips and tricks for beginners. Hugh Amano (author) was born in a small Colorado mountain town to an American mother and Japanese father. His love of cooking has led him to travel and learn as a chef and author. A graduate of the University of Colorado and the New England Culinary Institute, he is now a chef and writer in Chicago, where the familiar taste of ramen is always comforting. Sarah Becan (Illustrated by) has always drawn, and her love of food did the rest. Her work has appeared in various publications including Saveur, Eater.com, StarChefs and the Chicago Reader. Her first graphic novel, The Complete Ouija Interviews, won one of the Xeric Foundation awards. She lives in Chicago, and would be very happy to do nothing but draw food all day.
