Located in Sagae, at the foot of Mount Gassan in Yamagata prefecture, Gassan Shuzō was founded in 1972 on a site combining three historic sake houses dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. Faithful to the exceptional environment that surrounds it - abundant snow, beech forests and pure waters derived from 400 years of natural filtration - the brewery cultivates a refined sake, rooted in artisanal tradition and enriched by modern techniques. Its emblematic Ginrei Gassan range reflects the harshness of winter and the richness of local resources.
