Irie Cha En traces its origins to a pivotal moment in its founder’s life. When he was 20 years old and traveling across Japan in search of work, he was hospitalized. His roommate offered him a cup of tea, which he found delicious. Upon learning that it was Yamecha, native to Fukuoka, his home region, he decided to return home to learn the art of tea production. After several years of hard work, he founded the company 35 years ago, specializing in pesticide-free Yamecha.
