This yukihira saucepan takes its name from the poet Ariwara no Yukihira (9th century), associated with the legend of a vessel used to boil seawater and extract salt. Made by Akagawa Kibutsu in Tsubame, a Japanese city renowned for metalworking, it is crafted from mirror-finish stainless steel (1mm thick) and is compatible with all stovetops, including induction. It has a wooden handle and is made in Japan. It has a total capacity of 2.1L and a diameter of 20cm. Without a lid and fitted with a pouring spout on each side, it is equally suited to broth, sauce, or quickly blanching vegetables, and pours easily with either hand.
