⋅ Finely ground Hojicha from Uji, Kyoto
⋅ Ideal for baking or in a latte
⋅ Rich, toasty, warm aroma
⋅ Balanced flavor
⋅ Low in caffeine

This hojicha powder can be used in the same way as matcha. Its warm, toasty flavor evokes notes of hazelnut and cocoa, making it an ideal substitute for cocoa powder to add a touch of originality to classic pastries such as cookies, cakes, éclairs, tiramisu, or mousse. It’s also perfect for making delicious lattes with cow’s milk or plant-based milk. This powder is made by roasting tencha harvested in Uji and then grinding it into a fine powder. In addition to giving it its characteristic flavor, the roasting process removes most of the caffeine, making it suitable for consumption at any time of day, whether hot or cold.

This is a very good hojicha that reminds me of one from a shop where I buy my hojicha bubble tea. It’s very good, and the fact that it’s milder than the double-roasted hojicha gives it a woody, toasted flavor that’s just right. It’s a perfect hojicha when you don’t want too much of an espresso flavor but are still looking for a comforting drink with character :)

I’m satisfied with this hojicha, but it’s not the best I’ve ever tasted.
Since I can’t drink coffee at the moment, it’s perfect for me in the morning. I appreciate its smoothness, roasted notes, and hint of hazelnut.

Delicious. A wonderful discovery with hot oat milk.

Very good in a latte, but not strong enough for baking in my opinion. I prefer baking with the “intense double roast”!

A discovery!

I discovered this hojicha this winter with almond milk: an exceptional texture and a unique flavor.
I now drink it with water, whisking it until frothy first. The only problem: it’s often out of stock because of its success! 🤭

Incredible

Very surprising at first, because when you open the sachet, an incredible chocolate aroma comes out. In terms of flavor, I’d say it’s a blend of chocolate, green tea, and coffee notes, with a hint of roasted hazelnuts too. A very interesting flavor. I drink it with water, but I think many people would prefer it as a latte!
