A sweet umeshu plum liqueur with a slight tartness. It is made from Nanko-ume plums, native to Wakayama Prefecture, a region renowned for the quality of its plums. The ume plums are harvested when ripe and immediately macerated to preserve their fresh, deep flavor. Sugar is then added in successive stages using the "dan jikomi" method to extract the flavor of the fruit without altering it. Its thick texture and deep flavor can be enjoyed neat, but also on the rocks, mixed with soda or Ramune lemonade, heated, or even poured over vanilla ice cream as an affogato. This umeshu is produced under the protected geographical indication "Umeshu de Wakayama" because it is produced entirely locally, from harvesting the fruit to bottling, thus guaranteeing incomparable quality and expertise.
