Did you know? Oribe ceramics are distinguished by their artisanal approach, which embraces and even celebrates the element of chance. During production, artisans intentionally allow the fire, temperature fluctuations, and reactions of the glaze to create unique effects. This process may result in slight visible cracks in the glaze or unpredictable color variations, which do not affect the bowl’s functionality. Each piece is handmade in Japan, and variations from one piece to another (shapes, textures, colors) are completely normal. These variations contribute to the authenticity of these ceramics and are particularly sought after in the world of matcha and Oribe pottery, where the uniqueness of each bowl is an integral part of its beauty.

Plus de détails sur ce produit

Developed at the end of the 16th century, during the Azuchi–Momoyama period, the Oribe style is characterized by ceramics with black or green glazes, featuring stylized plant motifs and irregular, intentionally distorted shapes. Often associated with the tea ceremony, this pottery style breaks with the wabi-sabi aesthetic, whose characteristics are simpler and more minimalist.

Touga is a brand renowned for its mastery of ceramics. With particular attention to simplicity and quality, Touga designs durable and practical products, suited to everyday use while adding a touch of refinement.
