Matcha Green Smoothie

A creamy green smoothie that combines the freshness of fruits and vegetables with the rich flavor of matcha. Packed with antioxidants and natural energy, it has a creamy texture and a well-balanced taste, making it perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients
1 ripe banana
200 ml plant-based milk (almond, oat, or coconut)
1 handful of fresh spinach (≈30 g)
½ avocado (optional, for creaminess)

1 tsp culinary-grade matcha (≈2–2.5 g)
1 tbsp honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup (to taste)
½ lime (juice)
Ice cubes (to taste)
Superfood option: 1 tsp chia seeds or spirulina
Instructions
Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha into a small bowl. Add 1–2 tablespoons of warm water and whisk until frothy and completely dissolved.
In a blender, add:
bananas, spinach, and avocado (if used),
plant-based milk, lime juice,
prepared matcha and honey or syrup.
Add a few ice cubes for a cool, light texture.
Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Adjust the sweetness or acidity to your liking.
Pour into a large glass or a smoothie bowl and enjoy right away.
Recipe notes
For a thicker smoothie: add a handful of rolled oats or ½ cup of plant-based yogurt.
• For added protein: add 1 tablespoon of plant-based protein (pea, rice, hemp).
• Matcha provides energy and antioxidants without causing jitters, unlike coffee.
• Serve with a few chia seeds or coconut flakes as a topping.
