Hakutsuru Shuzo

With a unique history and a tradition of innovation, Hakutsuru is now one of Japan’s leading sake producers.
The company’s history began in 1743 when Jihei Kano started producing sake in the Nada district of Kobe, located
in Hyogo Prefecture. A few years later, the brewery took the name Hakutsuru (“the white crane”), paying homage to
these birds that can be seen in the rice paddies. Hakutsuru established itself on the world stage by participating in
the 1900 Paris World’s Fair, a milestone from which the brand has continued to grow.
