Ingredients

  • 500 g ground chicken
  • 2/3 spring onions
  • 100 g finely chopped shiitake mushrooms
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 piece of chopped ginger
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • œ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • gyoza wrappers
  • chili oil
  • 10 g finely chopped chives
  • sesame seeds

Directions

  1. Start by preparing the filling: finely chop the scallions, shiitake mushrooms, garlic, and ginger.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken with all the herbs and spices. Add the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, and pepper, then mix thoroughly until the mixture is well combined and fragrant.
  3. Next, assemble the dish: in a steamer-safe dish, arrange a first layer of gyoza wrappers. Cover with a layer of filling, then repeat the process, alternating layers of wrappers and filling, just like lasagna. Finish with a layer of gyoza wrappers.
  4. Place the dish in a steamer basket or steamer, and cook for 25 to 30 minutes. The filling should be fully cooked, and the gyoza wrappers should be tender and soft.
  5. Once cooked, drizzle the dish with a little chili oil, sprinkle with freshly chopped chives, and top with a few sesame seeds. Serve immediately, cut into generous portions, like lasagna.
