Recipe Torikatsu donburi

Enjoy a delicious Torikatsu, the Japanese version of breaded chicken that's crispy, tender and juicy on the inside. Perfect for a quick individual meal, served with rice, salad or stir-fried vegetables. An explosion of Japanese flavors in every bite!

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken fillets (about 150 g each)
  • Salt
  • 4 tbsp. flour
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 12 tbsp. panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Tonkatsu sauce to accompany
  • Pepper

Directions

  1. Slightly flatten the chicken fillets to a uniform thickness.
  2. Season the fillets on both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Dip each fillet in the flour, then in the beaten egg, and finally in the panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly so that they adhere well.
  4. Heat the oil in a large frying pan and fry the chicken for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, until golden and crispy.
  5. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  6. Serve immediately with tonkatsu sauce and your choice of side dishes (rice, salad, sautéed vegetables).
