Collection: Japanese mayonnaise and mustard
Kewpie mayonnaise is known for its more smooth and creamy texture than French mayonnaise. Its taste is very distinctive, with a slight sweet note and a subtle acidity from Japanese rice vinegar. It is used for many preparations: on an Okonomiyaki (a kind of thick pancake with cabbage and bacon), on Takoyaki (dough dumplings garnished with cooked octopus pieces), in Katsu Sando (breaded pork sandwich) or in sauce for potato or cabbage salad.
Karashi mustard is slightly more spicy than European mustard, with a small bitter and spicy aftertaste. It is made from yellow or brown mustard seeds, rice vinegar and sometimes salt and sugar. She can accompany tempuras, takoyaki and other fried specialties.
