This variety of kombu is cultivated by Tanaka Bussan in the clear and cold waters of the Hokkaido Sea, north of Japan. It is then cut into thin strips and dried in the sun before being slightly salted to obtain the Shio Kombu.

This product is in the form of dried and salted strips, perfect for adding flavor to your dishes. It can be used in many preparations, such as soups, salads, stews and marinades. It brings an intense Umami flavor and a slightly crunchy texture.

Shio Kombu is also rich in nutrients, such as fibers, minerals and vitamins, which are beneficial for health. It is also low in calories and is perfectly suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets.
