This very popular classic shochu in Japan offers a creamy texture, a sweet perfume and a dry flavor. It is tasted according to traditional Japanese methods: pure, with ice cubes, soda, or lukewarm and cold water.
The Kuro Kirishima Sweet Potato Shochu was the first Shochu made by the founder of the Kirishima brewery in 1916. The name Kuro means black and comes from the fact that a black rice koji is used for the Kuro Kirishima Shochu. The combination of this koji of black rice and sweet potatoes gives this Japanese liquor a mild aroma and pleasant sweetness. The nose is light, fresh and acidic, the taste is clear, soft, and sweet. The finish is long and dry.
