These rectangular rice cakes are produced with sticky kogane rice harvested in the field of Muramatsu, in the city of Gosen, in the prefecture of Niigata. The Mochi is obtained by crushing the rice in 2 steps thanks to a dedicated pestle, before cooling the obtained dough which allows a delicate and tasteful texture to be obtained.

The Japanese eat them in different ways: alone, in a broth, with soy sauce, grilled, sprinkled with matcha, kinako or kuromitsu sugar.

At a microwave: put the Mochi in a bowl of water and heat in the microwave for 2min30. Let stand for 1 min. Beware of the risk of suffocation, for children and the elderly, cut the Mochi before consuming it.
