Collection: Kitaoka Honten
The Kitaoka Honten brewery is established in the locality of Yoshino, south of Nara, a city which was the first capital of Japan in the 8th century, located at the eastern end of the Silk Road. From a historical and spiritual point of view, this mountainous area is undoubtedly one of the richest places in the country, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage because of its countless temples, pilgrimage places, residence of the emperor's summer, and his exceptional natural sites. The Kitaoka Honten brewery was founded in 1868, but it is based on a family history extending over seven generations. It is a line of producers of soy sauce, oil and sake, whose fate has been transformed by the initiative of one of his sons, Sojuro.
