Japanese specialty based on sweet and sifted sweet red beans to obtain a smooth and creamy texture. The taste is sweet, with a slight bitterness that recalls that of chestnut. This dough is often used as a garnish for traditional Japanese desserts such as Mochi, Dorayaki and Taiyaki. It can also be used as an ingredient in pastry or ice recipes.

A little fad in bean taste

It's not bad but for those who like the taste of azuki/red bean, it's a little too light in flavor. It’s not the worst Azuki puree that I tasted. At least it is done with Azuki of Japanese origin and not Chinese.
