Developed from a majority of corn from the "Coffey" stills, this single grain offers us an overview of grain whiskeys in the particular style of the Nikka house.

Original, it is aimed at people looking for a unique whiskey.

At the degustation, we find ripe fruits accentuated by frank rum, banana and caramel notes. The middle of the mouth is more fruity, dominated by the pear nectar and quickly, gives way to more creamy flavors without ever dwelling. The freshness is omnipresent.

Having grown up in a family of brewers, Masatake Tatketsuru has mastered fermentation techniques from an early age. In 1918, he left for Scotland to learn the techniques of whiskey manufacturing with a copper alambic: first the single malt, then the signl grain. Back in Japan, he met his Scottish wife, who teaches English by Shinjiro Tori. Very enthusiastic about the idea that Masatake mastered the techniques of manufacturing sake and whiskey, they decided to found together in 1924 the first whiskey distillery in Japan: Yamazaki which will become Suntory. After an argument between the two men, Masatake decided to open his own distillery in 1934 in Yamazaki: "Dai Japanese Kajû", which begins by producing apple hinge in order to make its stills work and make them profitable. He then drops the letters his business to keep only the ni and the ka, thus forming "nikka". His whiskey was only distributed in Japan, which made it very rare in the West. In 2001, a Frenchman brought back a Le Yoichi in France, thus launching the fashion of Japanese whiskeys in Europe.
