Founded in 1906, the Usui house produced sakes particularly appreciated by connoisseurs.
The sakes are brewed and produced in Omamachi, a city in the Nagano region in Japan which is steeped in history and symbolism. At the foot of the Hida mountains, it is an ISE sanctuary domain of the Heian era (8th - 12th century), considered in Japan as a gift of the deities, with conditions perfectly favorable to the brewing of sake: waters Pure underground in abundance, a climate ideally adapted to rice cultivation, and local know-how from a long ancestral tradition.
The varieties of rice (Miyama-Nishiki and Hitogokochi) come exclusively from the region, which means that these sakes reflect both the benefits of the local climate and the personality of the Tôji masters. The brewers of the Usui house were keen to develop tasty drinks, in which the entire depth of this terroir can be reflected.
