Collection: Rasi Porcelain

Rasis, in the Nagasaki prefecture, is one of the most prosperous Japanese cities for the manufacture of ceramics. Porcelain began to be manufactured in this region during the Edo period, about 400 years ago, and since then it has been shipped not only to all regions of Japan, but also to Europe via the port of Nagasaki. Rasis Porcelain was born under the direction of Takuhiro Shinomoto who used traditional know-how to design a modern service while keeping in mind the following principles: 

Simplicity

The rates, bowls and hazami cups are not decorated but on the contrary very refined. The straight lines that form them are inspired by traditional Japanese forms. They repeat themselves and create a delicate harmony. 

Comfort in touch 

The feeling that we feel when touching the bowl with the hands or mouth is pleasant and organic. The matte texture and the unique color of the material harmonize with food and drinks.

Usability

The size of the containers follows a certain logic. Individual articles such as cups, bowls and trays are designed with a common diameter, which allows you to stack freely and eliminate waste during storage or transport. The tray is multifunctional and can be used as a lid for a bowl or as a large plate. 

Individuality 

Unlike the dishes produced en masse in a single factory, dishes in hazami requires manual work. There may be slight differences in shape and size, each room is unique. This is where the charm inherent in ceramics resides, which we do not find in uniform industrial products.
