A soba shochu with rich buckwheat aromas to be served according to traditional Japanese methods: neat, on the rocks, or mixed with cold or hot water. The distillery’s philosophy is that the natural environment produces the best shochu, and in keeping with tradition, the distillery is located in one of the most picturesque parts of Kyushu. The distillery draws its water from a volcanic spring formed by five different rapids. Unkai translates to “sea of clouds” and owes its name to the autumn view from the top of a hill in the region, made famous by a Japanese emperor who visited there morning, noon, and night. Unkai is a single-distilled shochu.

Installée à Miyazaki depuis 1967, Unkai Shuzō incarne l’excellence artisanale du shōchū japonais.
