This hojicha is produced by roashing sencha green tea over high heat. Initially, it was made to restore flavor to green tea that had lost its freshness. The roasting gives the Hojicha a grilled taste reminiscent of hazelnut and chocolate, while eliminating the tea, which makes it perfect at any time of the day, both hot and cold.
