Collection: Kamagari bussan
Kamagari Bussan is a company based on the island of Kamagari, in the Seto Inland Sea, near Hiroshima. Founded in the 1990s, it has dedicated itself to the production of seaweed salt by re-establishing an ancestral method dating back to the tumulus (Kofun) period, mentioned in the Man'yōshū. This unique technique involves using seaweed such as Honda-Wara, combined with local seawater, to produce a salt with delicate, round flavors. The products are made using traditional methods, respecting know-how handed down over generations. Kamagari salt, known as "Salt of the Sea Fishermen", is renowned for its sweetness and rich umami content, symbolizing the cultural heritage of the island and its people.
