Made primarily from corn distilled in Coffey stills, this single grain offers an insight into the distinctive style of grain whiskies found in Nikka’s blends. Original and unique, it is aimed at those looking for a one-of-a-kind whisky.  Profile: Nose: fresh and seductive, revealing soft notes of ripe pear, cherry juice and exotic fruits. Citrus fruits, blood orange and lemon emerge before giving way to subtle floral notes of apple and cherry blossoms. As it opens up, it becomes more indulgent and pastry-like, with coconut, bourbon vanilla and cream-filled choux pastries. Underlying notes of mint and a touch of musk. Palate: wonderfully juicy and indulgent, it lives up to the promise of the nose. A medley of ripe fruits is enhanced by pronounced notes of rum (banana) and caramel. It grows more complex with zan, liquorice and star anise. The mid-palate becomes fruitier, dominated by pear nectar, and quickly gives way to creamier flavours without ever becoming heavy. Freshness is ever-present. Finish: just as indulgent as the palate, it develops with pear and bourbon vanilla before fading into a beautiful, subtle bitterness.
