These rectangular rice cakes are produced with Kogane glutinous rice harvested in the Muramatsu area, in the town of Gosen, in Niigata prefecture. The mochi is obtained by grinding the rice in 2 stages using a dedicated pestle, before cooling the resulting paste to obtain a cake with a delicate texture and rich flavor. Japanese eat them in a variety of ways: on their own, in a broth, with soy sauce, toasted, sprinkled with matcha, kinako or kuromitsu sugar.

Excellent. I eat it with soy sauce.
Cooking is a bit tricky. You have to follow the instructions on the amount of water and time.
Oven-roasted rice is a real treat, even plain! The smell of lightly toasted rice is exquisite! Or 30 seconds in the microwave just after moistening the mochi with a drizzle of water, it's delicious! They're softer than other mochi I've bought before.
Sprinkled with kinako and a little honey, top!
