It can also be used in salads to add an interesting, crunchy texture, or sautéed with vegetables and meats or seafood to create a tasty dish. Harusame is often paired with sweet and savory flavors such as soy sauce, mirin, dashi and ginger. You can also add rice vinegar and sesame oil to create a healthy and delicious vermicelli salad.

For cold consumption: cook in boiling water for 5 minutes, rinse with water and drain. Enjoy as a salad with vegetables of your choice.
For hot consumption: cook in boiling water for 2 minutes. Rinse in cold water and drain. Add to broth or sauté in a pan.
