A top-of-the-range coffee with unique floral notes, made from Geisha coffee beans, carefully roasted in Tokyo's historic Fukagawa district and then packed in drip bags. Contrary to what its name might suggest, the Geisha coffee variety originates from the Gesha region of Ethiopia, from which it takes its name. It is renowned for its floral and fruity aromas. The district of Fukagawa, founded in the 17th century at the start of the Edo era, was originally a fishing village that became an important center of river trade thanks to the Onagigawa River. During the Edo period, the district was transformed into a renowned place of entertainment, notably for its geishas. Today, it retains an important cultural heritage, with several emblematic sites helping to recreate the unique atmosphere of the Edo period. Each drip bag is packaged in a pouch decorated with a motif of a Fukagawa geisha, in reference to the district's history.

Normally I'm a big green tea drinker, and I rarely take coffee. So when I was looking at the green tea aisle at the irasshai store, I saw this beautiful coffee package that caught my eye. There was this great desire in me to buy and try, it was strange, so I decided to go with my heart ha! From this producer, Pico coffee, there were 4 varieties of drip coffee, and I read all the ingredients behind the origin etc.... I took the red one, and it came from a country in Ethiopia. The 3 other coffees were a mixture of two countries. So in the morning when I opened the packaging and the bag of this coffee, oh la la what a beautiful aroma it gave, it smelled so good! I followed the instructions carefully to make this drip coffee. So what was my first taste? Really just sublime, it was like being in heaven. I felt good about myself. I listened to my heart to buy it, and I did! The next day I decided to take this coffee again in the morning instead of my green tea. I highly recommend you try it! I also did a Google search on the producer Café Pico and I read an article in English about them, here's the link if you're interested, and here I am very happy with my purchase of this special coffee! https://kotomise.jp/en_article/serious-coffee-cafe-des-artes-pico/
