Located on the east coast of Honshu Island, Miyagi Prefecture enjoys a temperate climate influenced by the Pacific Ocean and fertile soil ideal for growing exceptional produce. The region is famous for its seafood, particularly oysters and sardines, caught in the rich waters of Matsushima Bay, one of the most beautiful in Japan.

The rice grown in the region is particularly flavorful and of high quality. The prefecture is also known for its soba and udon noodles, essential specialties of Miyagi cuisine, as well as for its homemade miso, used to create broths and sauces with delicate yet deep flavors.
