A rice with a tender texture and sweet flavor, resulting from a crossbreeding of two rice varieties in 2006 and recognized as the flagship variety of the Miyagi region since 2016. It takes its name from Date Masamune, a famous samurai who ruled the Tohoku region during the 17th century.
It is characterized by a flavor that becomes increasingly sweet the more you chew it, as well as a tender texture, making it a rice that can be enjoyed both hot and cold, with vegetables or fish, in sushi, onigiri, or in bento boxes

Fondée en 1905, Okomekan se spécialise dans le commerce du riz sous toutes ses formes.
300g de riz pour 2 à 4 personnes : lavez le riz à la main 3 fois à l'eau puis rincez-le jusqu'à ce que l'eau soit transparente. Mettez ensuite le riz dans une casserole, ajoutez 430ml d'eau et laissez reposer 30 minutes. Couvrez la casserole et chauffez à feu moyen jusqu’à ébullition. Baissez le feu et laissez cuire 10 minutes sans retirer le couvercle. Coupez le feu et laissez reposer 10 minutes supplémentaires, toujours avec le couvercle. Mélangez doucement le riz avant de le déguster
