This set contains 12 individual tea bags, offering a unique experience of three popular teas: Sencha, Hojicha, and Gyokuro. Each of these teas has been carefully selected for its quality and distinct flavors. Sencha: This classic green tea is the most widely consumed in Japan. It offers a fresh, slightly herbaceous taste and a mildness that varies with each infusion. Sencha is perfect for daily consumption, being both soothing and refreshing. Hojicha: A roasted green tea with a mild, slightly smoky flavor. It is lighter and less bitter than Sencha, with a lovely roundness that makes it particularly enjoyable at the end of the day or after a meal. Gyokuro: A premium green tea distinguished by its smoothness and pronounced umami. This tea is grown in the shade before harvest, which intensifies its flavor and gives it a creamy texture and a slightly sweet taste. Each tea is carefully selected for its quality and distinct aromas, ensuring an authentic experience with every cup.

Ippodo's origins date back more than three centuries, to 1717, when Rihei Watanabe opened a shop called Omiya to sell tea and ceramics. In 1846, the shop was renamed Ippodo, meaning “to preserve.” The name came from Prince Yamashina, who appreciated Ippodo tea and wanted the shop to preserve a tradition: providing high-quality tea. Ippodo continues to adapt to changing times while remaining faithful to high-quality Japanese tea.
