This classic shochu, much-loved in Japan, offers a creamy texture, sweet aroma and dry flavor. It can be enjoyed in the traditional Japanese way: neat, on the rocks, with soda, or with warm or cold water. Kuro Kirishima Sweet Potato Shochu was the first shochu made by the founder of the Kirishima brewery in 1916. The name Kuro means black and comes from the fact that a black rice koji is used for Kuro Kirishima Shochu. The combination of this black rice koji and sweet potatoes gives this Japanese liqueur a soft aroma and pleasant sweetness. The nose is light, fresh and acidic, the taste clear, mild and sweet. The finish is long and dry.
