Vendor : Henko
⋅ Light, creamy texture
⋅ For both sweet and savoury dishes
A black sesame paste with a light texture and intense taste that lingers in the mouth, ideal for both sweet and savoury dishes. The paste is obtained by grinding the sesame seeds twice with a stone mortar until a thick paste is obtained, a recipe developed by the wife of Yamada founder Kyoto Corpooration, who called it "sesame butter". This was one of the first products marketed by the company. Whether used in sweet dishes such as marbré, or savoury ones such as risotto, sesame paste will add taste and texture to all your dishes, with a distinctive sesame aftertaste. You can also use it in sauces and dressings, or pure on vanilla ice cream, cake or tofu.

More details on this product
Yutaka Yamada, founder of the Yamada Kyoto Corporation, was originally a train driver who fell ill due to overwork. He then met Yukikazu Sakurazawa, who introduced him to macrobiotics, which would enable him to regain his health. To thank Yukikazu, Yamada decided to take up the production of macrobiotic foods himself, "good for people and good for society". At first he produced oil, but also wheat and buckwheat noodles, before specializing in sesame products.
The company's nickname "Henko", meaning "determined", symbolizes Yutaka Yamada's determination to produce high-quality products.
