Okinawan black sugar granules, made from sugarcane grown exclusively in Okinawa and on Kikai Island in Kagoshima. Produced by Shinryo in Uruma, it is prepared using the traditional method for making raw sugar, kokuto, which involves removing impurities from the sugarcane juice before concentrating and cooling it without adding chemicals. The result is a pure, natural sugar rich in essential minerals such as calcium, potassium, and iron, offering a taste that is both sweet and robust.
Thanks to its ideal texture and fine grain size, this sugar dissolves perfectly in hot beverages, such as tea, and adds a touch of sweetness to pastries and confections. Its deep flavor and rich color come from the addition of black sugar from Yonaguni, an island in Okinawa, which intensifies the flavor and adds a darker hue. This sugar is particularly prized for its ability to add a savory, caramelized note to desserts, while offering a visually appealing marbled effect in baked goods.
Okinawa black sugar is ideal for enjoying during your downtime, whether as a snack for children or as an ingredient in your everyday recipes. Its authentic taste and exceptional quality make it a perfect choice for those seeking a natural sugar with nutritional benefits and an incomparable flavor.
