A versatile ceramic pot, ideal for slow, flavorful cooking. Compatible with direct gas heat, the oven, and the microwave, it offers even cooking and excellent heat retention. An essential element of traditional Japanese cuisine, it provides a convivial and healthy culinary experience thanks to its ability to cook food evenly. Its light weight and compact size make it the perfect tool for cooking for one or two people, whether for Japanese shabu-shabu, yose-nabe, or Western-style stews like a ragout.
Its ceramic is resistant to extreme temperatures and has low water absorption, which prevents the retention of unpleasant odors as well as residual flavors from previous preparations. This pot is designed to retain heat for a long time, making it ideal for keeping your dishes warm at the table while preserving the purity of their flavors.
This donabe stands out for its ease of maintenance, preventing any risk of mold. It is important to clean it gently after each use with a mild detergent. When using it, be sure not to heat it without water and do not use it for frying.

This product rarely absorbs water, so it does not need to be seasoned before first use. Before first use, please wash it gently with a neutral detergent. Do not heat without water. Do not use for stir-frying or deep-frying. Be sure to heat it evenly on a gas stove. Remove the lid when using it in an oven, as a rapid rise in temperature may cause it to crack. The handle gets hot when heated. Use oven mitts to hold it. Do not place the pot directly on the table when it is hot, as it may discolor the surface. Use a pot mat. Hold the pot with both hands when carrying it, as the ceramic pot is heavy. Do not touch it with a wet cloth or place it in a damp area while it is hot, as rapid cooling could cause it to break. Do not add too much water. This could cause boiling over and result in injury. Do not heat rapidly to high temperatures, and be sure to stir thoroughly while heating.
Remove the lid when using in an oven, as a rapid rise in temperature may cause it to break. Wash and dry the product immediately after use and keep it dry when not in use. Wash with care. Do not use abrasive cleaners or steel wool. Do not use hard metal objects to remove burnt-on residue. If the pot is burnt, boil water in the pot, add 1 tablespoon of baking soda, and simmer over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes; let cool and scrub with a melamine sponge. The shape and capacity of the product vary from item to item due to the nature of the manufacturing process. The colors of the body and lid are slightly different due to variations in materials.
