Founded in 1849 during the Edo period in Nihonbashi, Muromachi, Yamamoto Nori Ten is a pioneer in the nori trade. He is credited with creating seasoned nori in 1869, when the company produced this product for Emperor Meiji. So popular was this creation that it was later marketed to the general public.
