More details on this product
Uo no Ya , founded in 1877 in Oda, Shimane, is a pioneer in the production and sale of natural wakame (edible seaweed). Since 2007, the company has distinguished itself by growing and processing natural wakame on the Oki Islands, where less than 1% of the national market is made up of wild wakame, as opposed to cultivated wakame. Their philosophy is based on innovation in a little-explored sector and local involvement, with a strong commitment to job creation and the revitalization of the fishing industry. Uo no Ya pursues the quest for rarity and excellence in natural wakame, harvested each year from March to May. The company won the Grand Prize in the 6th edition of the "Discover the treasures of agricultural and maritime villages" competition in 2019.
