In the package: good impression despite the presence of a few twigs, beautiful large leaves, which is a change from the big brands that have no qualms about selling you leaves that have been reduced to powder...
Infusion: the taste is what I was looking for, the green tea brings a herbaceous note with slight hints of seaweed, while the roasted rice adds umami and slight peppery notes. The overall taste is well-rounded, rich and without bitterness. Can be drunk at any time, even with meals. Very economical, it can easily be infused a second or even a third time.
The only negative point to note is the brewing advice on the label: 30 seconds to 1 minute of brewing with boiling water is heresy for green tea... Brewing at too high a temperature promotes bitterness, which is not at all what you want with this particular tea. Personally, I recommend no more than 70-80°C (water that is not boiling, or even simmering) and a first infusion of 3 minutes, no more and no less (for the second infusion, you can increase the time to 10 minutes).
Genmaicha is a tea that I really love. This one is perfect!
