Hoikoro is a traditional Japanese dish based on rice and pickled vegetables. It's a hearty dish, ideal for winter. This hoikoro tastes salty and slightly sweet, with a crunchy texture from the pickled vegetables. The vinegared rice adds a slightly tangy note that goes well with the vegetables. It can be used as an accompaniment to a meal or in a bento lunch. Simply mix with cooked rice and serve with vegetables and seafood of your choice.

More details on this product
George Ohsawa, a Japanese philosopher born in 1893, was at the origin of the macrobiotic movement. He sought to introduce the philosophy of ying and yang into the world of food, on the premise that good food could solve all ills. Based on the principle that forcing oneself to eat only healthy foods without taking pleasure in them would not allow one to adopt this diet forever, the Ohsawa group founded in 1945 extended his work by seeking to distribute only macrobiotic products that were both good for the body and the palate.

After purchasing this product, I discovered that it required other ingredients. I didn't know what they were and I couldn't find them in my usual store. So I tried to prepare it without these ingredients. The result was perfect. It's excellent as a side dish or served over rice.
Just loved it!
