If Koshihikari is the king of rice, then Milky Queen is its queen! This variant of Koshihikari has gained in popularity thanks to its low amylose content, which makes it softer than other rices. What's more, it retains its texture when cold, making it ideal for onigiri, bentos, sushi and other cold rice dishes. Japanese eat it mixed with white rice in a ratio of 1/3. It takes its name from its slightly milky appearance when cooked. Its taste is similar to Koshihikari.
It is harvested in Toyama prefecture by Nanohana, a company specializing in rice production. Rice is grown in Toyama prefecture, which is renowned for the quality of its rice. The plains are irrigated by melting snow from Mount Hida, also known as the "Northern Alps". With its fertile, nutrient-rich soils, the region is ideal for growing rice.

Just as good as the white rice version.
I love milky Queen white rice, so just so I don't die a fool, I wanted to try brown. I didn't follow the cooking instructions on the packet because I have a rice cooker that also handles brown rice. Well, it's really very, very interesting in terms of taste and consistency because it's quite different from "white" and the taste of brown rice seems even more addictive. In short, you need to allow more time but it's really worth it.
