⋅ A Honjozo sake
A Honjozo sake with a fresh, fruity profile and a dry finish. It is made exclusively from Haenuki rice from Yamagata, grown in the village of Oe-machi. This sake was created as a tribute to the TV series Oshin, which is set in Yamagata and in which the eponymous heroine embodies resilience and success through hard work. The village of Oe is also a nod to the series, as it is where the story begins. Dominated by Mount Gassan, which rises to 1,980 meters, and irrigated by the pure waters of the Sagae River, Yamagata Prefecture offers ideal conditions for rice cultivation. Its climate, characterized by significant temperature fluctuations, allows for slow fermentation of the rice throughout the winter, bringing out the natural umami of the grains. Oshin no Sato sake can be enjoyed both chilled and at room temperature. It is ideal with delicate dishes such as sashimi, grilled white fish, or vegetables.
