COKUN sake is an exceptional creation from Kamoizumi, distinguished by its natural pink color, obtained thanks to a special yeast which, unlike other yeasts, does not produce adenine and thus gives a red hue. This rare phenomenon, once known as "猩々もろみ" (shōjō-moromi), today translates into a sake with a soft, original pink color, without the addition of colorants or artificial ingredients.
Low in alcohol, this sake stands out for its delicate, fruity flavors, offering a smooth, pleasant taste experience. It is ideal as an aperitif or with desserts, thanks to its light character and smooth texture.
Kamoizumi is also known for its unique brewing method, which does not filter the sake through activated carbon. This retains a richness on the palate that adds to the product's complexity.
COKUN sake won the prestigious Best Grand Prix award at the 2015 Wine Glass Good Sake Award, a recognition that testifies to the exceptional quality of this beverage.
The name "COKUN" (こくん) evokes delicacy and femininity, inspired by the idea of a woman elegantly drinking sake with gentleness. This sake is thus distinguished by its modern, refined appearance, bringing a touch of freshness and originality to the world of sake.
