COKUN sake is an exceptional creation from the Kamoizumi brewery, distinguished by its natural pink color, achieved through a special yeast that, unlike other yeasts, does not produce adenine and thus yields a red hue. This rare phenomenon, once known as "猩々もろみ" (shōjō-moromi), results today in a sake with a soft, unique pink color, without the addition of colorants or artificial ingredients.
Low in alcohol, this sake is distinguished by its delicate and fruity flavors, offering a smooth and pleasant tasting experience. It is ideal as an aperitif or to accompany desserts, thanks to its light character and creamy texture.
The Kamoizumi brewery is also known for its unique brewing method, which does not filter the sake with activated charcoal. This preserves a richness on the palate that adds to the product’s complexity.
COKUN sake won the prestigious Best Grand Prix award at the 2015 Wine Glass Good Sake Award, a recognition that attests to the exceptional quality of this beverage.
The name "COKUN" (こくん) evokes delicacy and femininity, inspired by the image of a woman elegantly sipping sake with grace. This sake thus stands out for its modern and refined appearance, bringing a touch of freshness and originality to the world of sake.
