Unkai Soba Unkai Tan Buckwheat Shochu ⋅ 25% ⋅ 900mL

A soba shochu (sweet potato alcohol) with a rich buckwheat aroma, to be served in the traditional Japanese way: neat, on the rocks or cut with hot or cold water. The brewery's philosophy is that the natural environment produces the best shochu and, in keeping with tradition, the brewery is located in one of the most picturesque parts of Kyushu. The brewery draws its water from a volcanic spring formed from five different rapids. Unkai translates as "sea of clouds" and owes its name to the autumnal view from the top of a hill in the region, made famous by a Japanese emperor who used to visit it morning, noon and night. Unkai is a single-distillation shochu.
