Ingredients
- 400 g fresh sashimi-grade salmon, skinless and boneless
- 1 shallot, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon chopped capers
- 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon mild mustard
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- A few sprigs of fresh dill for garnish
- Optional: 1/2 avocado, diced
Directions
- Cut the salmon into small, even cubes measuring approximately 1 cm.
- In a bowl, mix together the chopped shallot, capers, lemon juice, mustard, and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
- Gently fold the salmon into the mixture and stir to coat the salmon cubes evenly.
- If using avocado, gently add it to the tartare just before serving.
- Divide the tartare between 4 plates or verrines. Garnish with a few sprigs of fresh dill and a drizzle of olive oil, if desired.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the salmon at its freshest.
